Frequently Asked Questions
1) Where is the boudoir photography shoot?
Your boudoir photography can be done either at our studio in Sheffield, or on-location, which ever is preferred. The results from both shoots can be quite different, as in the studio we have much more control over lighting and surrounding, plus a great new barque sofa. Yet, we know if we have the right location, then results can also have an edge of feeling a little more natural due to the surroundings and lighting condition. Which ever you prefer the price is the same for both, with up to 60 miles round trip from the studio covered. Not sure which is right for you, then give us a call in the studio on 0114-2331135 or drop us an email via our contact us form
2) Is the photography shoot for just me, or me and my partner?
Either. This can be something you do as a couple, or just for by yourself, it’s entirely up to you. Many of the shoots are for a partner, so it’s often done in secret, and we can help with that as well – we love a good secret!
3) Who is at shoot?
The boudoir shoot itself is normally just done with just Karl and the people having the shoot. We realise this is quite an intimate shoot, so we want you to feel 100% safe, so whenever the shoot is happening at the studio, then Karl’s wife Ros can be on hand to help where every needed.
4) Can I bring a friend?
Of course you can, you didn’t need to ask. They can come along for support, or even have a shoot of there own. If you both want a shoot, then package 1 is reduced by 50% for the second person, and we extended the shoot time for you both. And if it helps, bring a bottle of wine!
5) How long is my boudoir/glamour photography shoot?
The shoot is normally about 1.5hours, as this allows time to try a few differnet things, have a couple of changes of outfits, and generally have a nice relaxed session. If your having a shoot with a friend, then we’ll extend that time to about 2 hours, but we often run over that time.
6) What should I bring to the shoot/wear?
This is very much a personal thing, but by bring a good selection of outfits and exspecially accessories we can create a number of different looks. The choice of outfits are also a decision as to how risque you want your boudoir or glamour shoot to be? Most people will start with something they feel comfortable wearing and work there way to something a little more daring, but that is different for everyone. Hear a few things we suggest and is certainly not exhaustive – a selection of shoes or boots with heals, stockings, a few sets of underwear and/or basques (something with a splash of red always works), some bold jewellery, a fur coat or pasmina, and why not try that boyfriends favourite shirt. If you want to give it that true bridal feel, then also bring along your wedding day underwear, jewellery and veil.
7) What’s the difference between boudoir photography and a glamour photography?
Glamour photography is modern and sometime retro version of the 1960’s feeling to ‘naughty’ photographs, which were often more about being suggestive, then showing skin. Boudoir photography goes a step further, but wearing a little less, sometime nothing (if you want to be extra daring). All our boudoir shoots are there to create stunning, beautiful, flattering and tastful images.
8) Are you happy to photography same sex partners?
Of course, it went without saying. We’ve had the priviliage of covering a lot of same sex marriages as well, so come on over we’d love to capture you both!
9) Do you airbrush/photoshop?
Yes, we do, but overly so. Natural, correctly lit and posed images are by far better then poor images overly edited. Don’t worry, you’re in good hands and Karl will make you look amazing!
10) I’m not very confident in front of the camera?
Boudoir photography is a very intimate genra of photography and nearly every one has a least a few nerves. Karl will put you at ease, and guide you through everything. All our boudoir photography sessions are designed to relaxed and enjoyable experience, and with Karl’s expertice and soft approach you’ll be at ease. We often get told that many people get a boost of confidence from our shoots, as they see themselves in a whole new light.
